How to style an entryway

Isn’t it funny how art can just speak to you? Like, when you know, you know? That’s how I felt when I saw this piece by Cozamia. The colors just really spoke to me and inspired so much of this entry look.

Next thing I know American Frame reached out to me to collaborate, and I found the perfect frame to compliment this print. I love the gold leaf detail with speckled brown spots - so gorgeous! Everything was sent to me with instructions for easy assembly.

Stumbling upon this antique console table at a local store here in TN really got me thinking…I might just update the entire entry LOL.

I love the natural wood and the brass ring handles. I knew it would be fun to style too. Turns out, it is!

So it started to become clear to me why I loved this art print so much because apparently I have collected a TON of vintage wares in similar colors. My hoarding finally paid off! LOL

I found these glass trees at the Dollar tree probably ten years ago. I love them just as much as the pricier decorations. Case in point: you can decorate a home you love on any budget!

I originally intended to sell these vintage pink candlestick lamps, but after seeing them with this art, I decided to keep them. WHOOPS! That happens quite a bit in my house.

The ambient lighting is really nice for cozy nights at home, so I highly recommend table lamps or sconces in addition to overhead lighting for an entryway.

I purchased this old spindle chair on FB marketplace for $15 and reupholstered it with some metallic gunmetal leather. So comfy!

So let’s talk about the formula for decorating this entryway:

  1. A large piece of art or mirror

  2. A console table with multiple tiers for styling.

  3. A pair of small lamps or sconces for mood lighting and symmetry

  4. Books -for color and height. You can see how I turned a large white book (on the top) backwards to function as a “tray”. The collection of antique cornflower blue books pull out the colors from the art. Hot tip: Visit a local used book shop and ask the shop owners to help you find books by color!

  5. Functional accessories: A bowl to drop your keys, decorative boxes and jars to corral small objects.

  6. A chair to sit and put on shoes

  7. A place to hold your umbrella

  8. Seasonal decor

  9. A welcoming runner rug for color and texture.

  10. A plant for feng shui (it’s a thing, trust me!)

  11. I don’t have a candle in this shot due to the holiday decorations but I usually keep one here. It’s a nice way to great guests as they first enter your home. Don’t forget the the matches! This is a great place for my match striker DIY
