One room Challenge Spring 2022

This week, we installed the beautiful, Auguste by Coordonne wallpaper from Wallpaper Direct. I chose the Aqua colorway because it compliments the paint color so well.

This was our first time installing wallpaper to a ceiling, and it was a lot easier than I expected. As you might guess, the hardest part is holding your arms upright for so long. So, I would say this is definitely a two-person job so you have someone there to help give you breaks. The only other difference between installing on the ceiling versus the wall, was we put the paste directly on the ceiling, rather than the paper. We did this one row at a time and used this adhesive with a mohair roller brush. Unlike prepasted paper, there was no need to wait between pasting and applying. As soon as the paste is on the ceiling, it’s go time! I was so worried the paper would be falling off before the paste dried, but it stayed in place perfectly. Having the right tools really helps!

I wanted something for the ceiling that had some interest, yet felt soothing. In other words, nothing with too much variation. This wallpaper fit the bill perfectly. It adds such a lovely texture to the room. Andy sees leaves when he looks at it, I see mountains!

I am still waiting on one piece to arrive, and I’m pretty sure…it will be late. 🥴 This is an item I order during week 1 of this challenge, but with lead-times being so long, it’s taking longer than expected to arrive. I thought about moving forward with the reveal without this item, but I don’t think I can. It’s such a statement and really makes the room. SO, with that said, I will likely be sharing a preview reveal next week, and then the full reveal one week late. I guess we can call this a 9 week challenge??! LOL

I promise, it will be worth it! Eep!
